the holidays.

The holidays are both stressful and relaxing, fun and annoying, exciting and sleep-inducing.  All I want to do is sleep.  My sleep debt's pretty high and I want to fit in enough relaxation to last until spring break.  I also wanted to work a ton, but that's not happening.  Oh well.  Maybe I'll go spend some money instead.
Presents are always difficult for me.  I have no idea what to get anyone else, and for some reason, the people closest to me (aka my grandmother) has no idea what to get me.  I should tell her just to save the money and not get me anything.  I never have ideas as to what I want so I can't just write down a list.  She always gets me pajamas (most of the time they don't fit), something that matches what Katie got, and something pink.  Always.  And lotion that smells just like flowers, but ten times worse so I feel like I'm going to barf.  I appreciate the thought, but next year, she's going to donate the money.  Not even kidding.
My mom has also gotten pretty stressed.  She's done quite a bit of wallowing in self-pity, and unfortunately, it's not helping anyone.  I just get more irritated because she's crying and I get pissy which in turn makes her pissy...it's just a bad cycle.  Oh well.  Tomorrow I get to work and get out of the house.
I also eat enough for one and a half people over the holidays.  It tastes good, but I REALLY don't need that much.
Time to go watch a movie and fall asleep and sleep some more.
Nighty-night.

wow...

Today, I'm at home instead of at school.  You ask, why?  Because, as I was walking into the school, I slipped on a patch of water in my heels and splat!  I landed right on my face.  Luckily, my nose isn't broken or anything, it's just swollen.  My pride took a hit today.  Oh well.  Only this would happen to me.
Time to do nothing all day.

10 Reasons Why the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is AWESOME.

1. the soundtrack is incredible.  'nuff said.
2. the graphics in the movie are way ahead of its time (aka only a few years)
3. the language they use sounds to regal.  why would you say, "don't throw rocks in the lake" when you could say "don't disturb the water?"
4. there are soo many things that remind me of harry potter.  like the ring?  it's a horcrux.  saron's horcrux.
5. elijah wood has the most beauutiful eyes ever.  not even kidding.
6. orlando bloom is also very hot.  without long elf hair.
7. they couldn't have gotten better actors for this.  they're all incredibly talented.
8. the villian seems more evil because you never actually meet him.  fear of the idea of this evil, evil thing is, well, scary.
9. J.R.R. Tolkein has the most first initials of any author i've seen.
10. there's a LOT of imagination that goes into this.  tolkein was obviously thinking for a while.

i freakin' love these books/movies.

The Wonderful Sport of Procrastinating!

I am so good at procrastinating, I don't even know it.  Like right now, I should be writing an English essay and doing Calc homework, but instead I'm cleaning my room and listening to old CD's to see if I still like them.  Awesome.

Boy do I want to go back to Germany.  I REALLY REALLY want to.  Not even kidding.

My Critizism on Everything Harry Potter.

Ok, just kidding.  But if you're a die-hard Harry Potter fan, you should watch A Very Potter Musical on Youtube.  It's pretty hilarious.  I have to say the 6th movie is the best in terms of comedic relief and action.  Though there is a scene that doesn't appear in the book, it follows the book very closely.  I just need to finish number 6 and I'm good to go for Friday morning!!  I got a Harry Potter t-shirt at Hot Topic yesterday.  It's blue and says 'Muggle' across the front.  I think it portrays me well.
Oh no!  Ron's dying now.  I have to watch and make sure he's ok.  I've only seen this movie a billion times.

HARRY POTTER!!!

I can't wait till Harry Potter comes out.  If I haven't mentioned, I'm going to the MIDNIGHT premiere.  I feel so cool.
This is one of the movie posters.  I really want one!

I am not sure I'm able to mourn properly.  Is that a problem?  Is there a certain why to mourn?
Shit.  I only feel like this when I'm alone.  What. The. Hell.

Bipolar.

I think I'm bipolar.  Just when it comes to my moods.  I'm happy and bubbly at school, but the minute I pull into the driveway, it's don't-mess-with-me Taylor.  Oh well.

Work...

I have to say: working at DSW is a lot better than working at Marshalls.  I have a few reasons why...
1. The pay is a whole dollar better
2. My managers actually care about their jobs and their employees
3. The hours are not quite as long
4. The atmosphere is just better.
We had a 4th quarter meeting today to discuss what types of things we need to improve within the store.  We talked about making DSW 'America's favorite place for shoes' and things that are not appropriate to say to a customer.  At my meeting, most of the people had worked at DSW less than 2 months.  I think DSW may also have a high turnover rate as well.  But I'm not too sure....

I. LOVE. COFFEE.
There's your daily douse of random.

Getting My Life Back on Track...

After my dad died a few weeks ago, I had no consentration for work or school.  I had a few rough weeks at work where I thought I was going to be fired because I couldn't remember my login password.  Oops.  One of my friends recently said that I should write a blog and I didn't mention that I already had one.  I guess I just need to remember it's here and write in it now and again.  Our volleyball team lost this weekend at state, in the first round.  It was too bad, but they had a great season anyways.  They still got to come to Green Bay and relax in the pool all day today.  Doesn't sound like a bad day at all.
AAAHHHH!!!  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 comes out in 13 days!!  I'm so excited, despite the fact that we have Honor's Band the day before and we have to drive into Madison at 10pm on a Thursday night.  We're going to the midnight showing.  YES!
I just realized that when I quit Marshalls, they just assumed that working was too much stress during the school year.  They don't know I have another job...oops.
Tomorrow I must work on homework.  Before 9pm.  Haha.

I heart thunderstorms.

I am just in awe that something as beautiful as lightning can be so...terrifying.  I was with a friend today who had lightning strike 50 ft. away from her and she freaked.  She just wanted to get out of the area completely.  Kind of unnecessary if you ask me.  She would've been perfectly safe in her car.
Anyways, I find thunderstorms so relaxing.  Most of the time, they come through during the night and I must be a heavy sleeper because I never hear any of them!  Argh.  Well.  Now I'm almost a complete night-owl so I should be able to hear anything coming our way.

Honey Bees.

This is a picture of a honeybee.  They can sting you, pollinate flowers and plants, and scare little kids with the thought of a painful little stinger in their arm.  Apparently, they're almost endangered.  About a year ago, Haagen-Dazs (sorry for the lack of umlauts), created the campaign HD <3 HB (Haagen Dazs loves honey bees) and they're accepting donations to help the plight of the honey bee.  They also have a flavor dedicated to the honey bee.  Also, if you buy any flavor with 'bee-built flavors' (aka plant based), you also contribute to the campaign.
I mean, Haagen-Dazs is delicious, but this makes me love them even more.
:)

Retail = Worst Job Ever.

Ok.  I'm sure there are worse things.  But the worst department to work in?  Shoes.  Why, you ask?  Because apparently people have NO IDEA how to put the shoes they just put on their stinky feet back into the box, lined up perfectly, and put it back on the shelf RIGHT WHERE THEY FOUND IT.  Good lord.  I glare at customers' backs if they leave shoes on the floor.
And who decided to cut down a whole forest for ONE SHOEBOX?!
I'm done ranting now.

Kick-Ass.

I've always personally liked the phrase 'kick-ass'.  And the fact that they made a movie named that?  Kick-ass.  Just finished watching it at 2:30 in the morning (I am a night owl) and thought it was a pretty classic superhero movie with plenty of teen-related shtuff.  It's not just for adults anymore.  It's for teens too.  Bahaha.  Though I wouldn't show this to a pre-teen or even an early teens child.  It's kinda violent.  And it swears a lot.  Which is why I'm watching it in the middle of the night from my computer so my mom doesn't ask why I'm watching this.  She's turned a blind-eye before, but even the title of this movie swears.  She would not agree.
